Darley Arabian

Horse

1700

The Darley Arabian (foaled about 1700) was sent to England from the Near East at the age of four. He sired the fill brothers Flying Childers and Bartlett's Childes, the former a great racehorse and the latter important for the continuation of the line. Well over 80% of modern racehorses can trace their descent to Bartlett's Childers' great grandson, Eclipse, many of them through the great American stallion Northern Dancer.
