Description
Framed Fragment of Eclipse's Skin with a letter of provenance.
This fragment was initially rescued in 1810 from the neglected stuffed skin of Eclipse by a neighbour of the O'Kelly family as described in the letter. In turn it then belonged to the trainer Mathew Dawson and then Lord Rosebery who presented it to the Jockey Club.
